**Pakistan and Austria Seek to Expand Cooperation in Education, Tourism, and Trade**
Pakistan and Austria have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, with a renewed focus on cooperation in education, tourism, and trade. This came during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Peter Launsky, the Special Envoy for Global Affairs of the Austrian Chancellor, held on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the steady progress of Pakistan-Austria ties and highlighted the importance of converting longstanding goodwill into practical partnerships. Key areas identified for future collaboration include facilitating academic exchanges and bolstering people-to-people interactions, aiming to foster innovation and cultural understanding between the two countries.
Special Envoy Peter Launsky praised the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in Austria, recognizing their positive impact on the Austrian economy and society. He also conveyed optimism about growing business connections, encouraging greater interaction between Austrian and Pakistani enterprises to seize emerging trade and investment opportunities.
Discussions also addressed the significance of working together at multilateral platforms, especially within the United Nations. Austria acknowledged Pakistan’s active engagement as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, commending its leadership and constructive input during its council presidency and its broader efforts towards promoting global peace and security.
The meeting concluded with both delegations reiterating their commitment to further deepen bilateral cooperation, building on a foundation of mutual trust and shared interests to deliver tangible benefits for both nations.
