RAWALPINDI, Sept 12, 2026: Pakistan Awami Quwwat Chairman Khaqan Waheed Khawaja has said the country needs a clear vision, effective policies and practical measures instead of false promises and traditional politics.
Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of Pakistan Awami Quwwat in Rawalpindi, he said education, technology and innovation, health, employment, women’s empowerment and Kashmir were key components of the party’s manifesto. He added that providing young people with modern skills and dignified employment opportunities was an urgent need.
The ceremony was attended by Aasma Ismail Butt, President Punjab Women’s Wing, Nabila Farghani, President Rawalpindi Division, Raja Shafqat Mehboob Advocate, President Lawyers’ Wing Rawalpindi Division, members of the Central Committee and other office-bearers. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, while Malik Ijaz Hussain performed the duties of host.
Speaking on the occasion, Aasma Ismail Butt said Khaqan Waheed Khawaja’s personality had impressed her during their first meeting. She said his services for public welfare were selfless and that his vision and commitment to public service had inspired her to join Pakistan Awami Quwwat.
She said she would work alongside Khaqan Waheed Khawaja to serve the people and make every effort to advance the mission of public service. She added that she had never taken shortcuts in life and that Allah Almighty had blessed Khaqan Waheed Khawaja with exceptional abilities.
“We will all become his strength and strive to live up to the trust he has placed in us,” she said.
Aasma Butt said she would play her full role in meeting Khaqan Waheed Khawaja’s expectations and would work to further promote his vision and commitment to public service. She said Pakistan Awami Quwwat had a clear vision for addressing public issues, particularly in the areas of education, health and basic rights.
She said she was proud to state which political party she stood with. Pakistan Awami Quwwat, she said, was striving to establish a system in which public welfare, basic rights and a better future for the people would be given priority.
Aasma Butt said Khaqan Waheed Khawaja’s determination was strong and that all colleagues stood with him. She pledged to use all her abilities to take the party’s manifesto and message to the people across the country.
Khaqan Waheed Khawaja thanked Aasma Ismail Butt for her support and said he needed sincere and honest colleagues. He expressed happiness that they were standing with him and supporting the party’s mission.
Senior journalist Malik Shakeel Awan said they would all work together to promote Khaqan Waheed Khawaja’s ideas, awareness and manifesto. Nabila Farghani, President Rawalpindi Division Women’s Wing, and Raja Shafqat Mehboob Advocate, President Lawyers’ Wing Rawalpindi Division, also addressed the ceremony.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Khaqan Waheed Khawaja presented Aasma Butt with the party flag and issued her appointment notification. Aasma Butt also took the oath of office as President Punjab Women’s Wing, Pakistan Awami Quwwat.
