Pakistan-Bahrain Ties Strengthened at Parliamentary Meeting

Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with Dr. Adel Abdulrahman Al-Mawda, a member of Bahrain’s Shura Council and deputy chairman of its Legislation and Legal Affairs Committee, at Parliament House to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties, boost parliamentary cooperation and explore economic and investment opportunities between Pakistan and Bahrain.

The meeting focused on the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Bahrain and emphasized the importance of deepening collaboration at the parliamentary level. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underlined the need to enhance contacts between the two legislatures, saying closer parliamentary engagement can bring the peoples of both countries nearer and provide a stable platform for cooperation.

Both sides highlighted the role of the National Assembly’s Pakistan-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group in promoting legislative exchanges and sustained dialogue. The Speaker noted that the friendship group has been instrumental in fostering parliamentary linkages and should continue to facilitate high-level visits and information-sharing.

Economic ties and investment prospects were also discussed. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq pointed to wide-ranging opportunities for investment across various sectors in Pakistan and invited Bahraini investors to take advantage of these prospects. He reiterated Pakistan’s interest in expanding trade and economic cooperation with Bahrain.

The Speaker expressed gratitude to the Bahraini government for the services and facilities it provides to the Pakistani community residing in Bahrain. He acknowledged the important role Pakistani expatriates play in strengthening people-to-people links and contributing to Bahrain’s development.

Dr. Adel Abdulrahman Al-Mawda welcomed the Speaker’s remarks and praised the historic and friendly relationship between Bahrain and Pakistan. He affirmed Bahrain’s appreciation for its ties with Pakistan, acknowledged the significant contribution of Pakistanis in Bahrain’s progress, and said Bahrain is keen to further consolidate bilateral relations.
