On March 11, 2026 in Islamabad, the Convener of the Pakistan–Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ms. Natasha Daultana, MNA, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Pakistan, Andrei N. Metelitsa, at the Embassy of Belarus to discuss ways to deepen parliamentary cooperation.
Ms. Daultana underlined the importance of parliamentary friendship groups in advancing parliamentary diplomacy and strengthening links between the Parliament of Pakistan and friendly legislatures. She invited the Ambassador to visit the National Assembly to meet members of the Pakistan–Belarus PFG and proposed that such direct engagement pave the way for a virtual meeting between the Pakistan Belarus parliamentary group and its Belarusian counterpart.
The Ambassador welcomed the outreach and highlighted the cordial relations between the two countries, recalling recent high-level exchanges including the Belarus Prime Minister’s attendance at the 2024 SCO Summit, the President of Belarus’s visit to Pakistan in November 2024, and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s visit to Belarus with a parliamentary delegation in August 2024.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to sustained parliamentary engagement and agreed to coordinate further interactions to translate diplomatic momentum into enhanced legislative cooperation. The meeting positioned Pakistan Belarus parliamentary cooperation as a practical channel for ongoing dialogue and mutual understanding between the two parliaments.
