The Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, working with the China International Cultural Communication Center, presented the inaugural Pakistan China fashion show at the Badaling section of the Great Wall on 19 October 2025, highlighting a deliberate fusion of Pakistani and Chinese aesthetics.
Designers Maheen Khan, Moazzam Abbasi, Ayesha Tariq, Rizwaullah and Zain Hashmi unveiled collections created specifically for cross-cultural appeal, while China-based Pakistani jeweler Aqeel Chaudhary showcased a complementary jewelry line. The event also featured designs by noted Chinese designer Liang Suyun, with the runway curated by Adnan Ansari of Riwayat.
Ambassador Khalil Hashmi described the Badaling venue as a symbolic stage for the modern Silk Road of fashion, saying the showcase underlined the commercial potential of Pakistan China fashion and the natural synergy between Pakistani creativity and the Chinese market. He noted the show’s timing was significant as it coincided with the 60th anniversary of the first Pakistani dignitary’s visit to Badaling.
Mr Long Yuxiang, Chairman of the China International Cultural Communication Center, framed the show as a vivid expression of the China-Pakistan All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership in cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and called for further collaboration to reinterpret traditional aesthetics for contemporary markets.
The audience included senior Chinese officials, members of the media, business representatives and diplomatic corps, reflecting both cultural interest and potential commercial engagement. Organizers and designers emphasized that Pakistan China fashion can open new trade and creative opportunities for Pakistani labels seeking to enter or expand in the Chinese market.
Badaling, the most renowned section of the Great Wall, provided an evocative backdrop for the event, which organisers hope will become a recurring platform to strengthen cultural ties and build lasting commercial bridges between Pakistan and China.
