Pakistan will host an international Husn e Qiraat competition from 24 November to 29 November at the Convention Center Islamabad, bringing reciters from more than 40 OIC member countries to the capital.
The announcement was made at the National Press Club Islamabad by renowned Qari and Ministry of Religious Affairs coordinator Syed Sadaqat Ali, who spoke alongside Joint Secretary Ahmed Nadeem. They said the event is being organised with the support of Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yusuf, who played an important role in bringing the contest to Pakistan.
The competition will be open to male participants aged 25 to 35 and will run in two stages. From 24 to 27 November judges will determine the top three positions, and an awards ceremony on 29 November will include distribution of cash prizes to the winners.
Organisers confirmed that the panel will include three international judges and five judges from Pakistan, and that Qari Sadaqat Ali will also serve as a judge. The four days of competition will take place at the Convention Center Islamabad and are expected to showcase a wide range of recitation styles from across the OIC community.
Officials said the Husn e Qiraat contest aims to encourage young Pakistanis to learn and refine Quranic recitation while projecting Pakistan’s soft image on the international stage. The Prime Minister has been formally invited to attend the awards ceremony.
Organisers expect the event to reveal new talent and strengthen cultural ties with participating countries, while offering a significant platform for professional exchange among leading qaris and judges.
