Pakistan Independence Day Celebrated in Ankara with Community Unity

Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day was celebrated with a vibrant reception at Pakistan House in Ankara, uniting the Pakistani community, Turkish dignitaries, and friends of Pakistan in a spirited display of national pride and cultural heritage. The event showcased the enduring brotherhood between Pakistan and Turkiye, emphasizing their deep-rooted, historic ties.

Guests were welcomed with traditional Pakistani hospitality, featuring cultural exhibitions, authentic cuisine, and patriotic songs that infused the gathering with colors of solidarity and patriotism. The atmosphere underscored the strong bonds between the two nations.

A special guest at the event was Mr. Burhan Kayaturk, former Chairman of the Pakistan-Turkiye Parliamentary Friendship Group and a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. In his remarks, he congratulated the people of Pakistan and shared personal memories from his time studying in Pakistan. He described the relationship between the two countries as “a divine blessing,” reaffirming Turkiye’s unwavering solidarity with Pakistan and expressing hope for a future based on mutual respect, trust, and collaboration.

Pakistan’s Ambassador, Dr. Yusuf Junaid, praised the contributions of the Pakistani community in Turkiye, highlighting their role in fostering positive relations and promoting a favorable image of Pakistan. He paid tribute to the country’s founders, reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to peace, development, and prosperity. Referring to recent successes, including the operations Haq and Banyan Marsus, the ambassador said these achievements invigorate the spirit of the Pakistan Movement and reinforce the validity of the two-nation theory.

Addressing the Kashmir issue, Dr. Junaid reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance and declared unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He pledged continued political, moral, and diplomatic support for their right to self-determination.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for Pakistan’s continued peace, progress, and prosperity.
