Islamabad, 5 November 2025 — Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq received the Iranian parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf at Parliament House Islamabad, where both sides agreed to deepen Pakistan Iran ties through expanded parliamentary collaboration.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said the relationship between the two countries is grounded in shared faith, culture and history, and reaffirmed that the people, Parliament and Government of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with Iran. He congratulated Iran for repulsing the recent aggression and noted that the Parliament of Pakistan was among the first to condemn the attack. He welcomed the Iranian Parliament’s chants of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ and expressed gratitude for Iran’s support during periods of Indian aggression, calling Iran a trusted brotherly neighbour.
Responding to the reception, Iranian Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf expressed deep appreciation for Pakistan’s timely support and described Pakistan as a true friend in need. He stressed that parliamentary engagement is the cornerstone for bringing the two countries closer, thanked Pakistan for its backing at international forums and reiterated Iran’s desire to broaden cooperation across political and economic spheres. Members of the Iranian delegation also praised the active role of the Parliament of Pakistan in regional and global affairs.
Both speakers committed to continued joint efforts for peace, stability and prosperity in the region, and agreed that stronger parliamentary ties will open new avenues for mutual progress. Member National Assembly and Convener of the Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group Syed Naveed Qamar was present during the meeting, underscoring Pakistan’s intent to pursue sustained legislative dialogue with Tehran.
