Pakistan and Kenya commit to deepen Digital Cooperation to boost the digital economy, tech governance and innovation across emerging digital sectors.

On 4 February 2026 in Kuwait, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja held talks with Kenya’s Minister for Information, Communications and Digital Economy William Kabogo Gatu on matters of mutual interest in digital development.

Both ministers agreed to strengthen bilateral ties in the digital economy and pledged to expand digital cooperation with an emphasis on promoting innovation and forging partnerships between public and private stakeholders.

Discussions focused on technology governance and the exchange of experiences to improve regulatory frameworks and practical implementation. They explored opportunities for collaboration in emerging digital sectors with a view to nurturing start-ups, skills development and joint initiatives.

The meeting underlined a shared commitment to boost digital innovation and partnership-driven projects that can benefit national digital strategies. Pakistan and Kenya reaffirmed their intent to pursue concrete steps to deepen Digital Cooperation and to maintain regular dialogue on implementation.
