The KOICA Pakistan Office and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) visited the National Textile University in Faisalabad from October 21 to 24 to advance the second phase of the Strengthening of PAK-Korea Technical Textile Center project (2022–2028, USD 7.95 million) and to hold a joint Task Force Team meeting.
During the visit, the team reviewed detailed plans for equipment relocation and installation following completion of the new building at NTU. Discussions also covered the design and schedule for next year’s invitational training program, building on the successful first training held in August.
Delegates met with local textile companies to exchange views on operational strategies for launching joint R&D initiatives and prototype development activities. These exchanges focused on practical steps to integrate university facilities with industry needs and to accelerate pilot production and testing under the Technical Textile Center framework.
KOICA and KITECH reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s textile sector by advancing industrial infrastructure and nurturing skilled human resources. The collaboration aims to enhance competitiveness in technical textiles and support Faisalabad’s role as a hub for textile innovation.
