MoFA hosts farewell lunch for Ambassador Jemal, recognising his role in strengthening Ethiopia Pakistan ties and marking the close of his mission.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a farewell lunch in Islamabad to honour H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The event brought together senior diplomats and stakeholders to mark the conclusion of Ambassador Jemalโ€™s mission.

Attendees included heads of international organisations, senior government officials, ambassadors and high commissioners from various countries, members of the business community and representatives of the media. The gathering underlined the breadth of engagement between Ethiopia and Pakistan and provided an opportunity for partners to acknowledge shared work and cooperation.

H.E. Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Additional Secretary for Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, praised the remarkable services of Ambassador Jemal in strengthening both bilateral and multilateral ties. Ambassador Khan highlighted the positive trajectory of Ethiopia Pakistan relations achieved during Dr. Jemal Bekerโ€™s tenure and thanked him for his contributions to diplomatic collaboration.

Ambassador Jemal expressed deep gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the official farewell and for the support extended throughout his posting. The reception in Islamabad reflected the mutual respect between the two capitals and the continued commitment to constructive engagement following the ambassadorโ€™s departure.
