MSC Mikol has docked at South Asia Pakistan Terminal, creating a new milestone in Pakistan’s maritime history as the largest container ship to call at the facility.
The 400 metre long vessel, with a capacity of 24,000 TEU, has taken the berth and is counted among the world’s most modern container ships, reflecting rising global shipping standards arriving at Pakistani ports.
Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, welcomed the arrival and described the event as a historic moment for the country, underscoring the importance of such calls for national maritime stature.
South Asia Pakistan Terminal successfully handled the complex berthing and operational procedures for MSC Mikol, demonstrating the terminal’s capability to service ultra-large container vessels and manage demanding port operations.
The arrival of MSC Mikol highlights Pakistan’s growing role in international container shipping routes and reinforces confidence in terminal capacity to support larger vessels and enhanced trade connectivity.
