The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) hosted a vibrant “Mega Musical Evening” in Islamabad to celebrate the nation’s Independence Day, highlighting Pakistan’s rich cultural diversity and promoting national unity. The event brought together renowned artists and musical groups from across all provinces, who showcased their talents through a series of performances that represented the country’s varied musical and cultural heritage.
The evening started with a stirring rendition of the national anthem by Jahangir Saqib and his music students, setting a patriotic tone and energizing the audience. Following this, performers such as Farhan Baloch, Kehkashan Baloch, Mansoor Ali, the Raast Band, Hasan Abbas, Shaheena Ali, Raja Imran, Rizwana Khan, Liaqat Murad Parkai, Mohammad Niaz, the Malangan Group, and Fazal Abbas Jatt took turns on stage. Each act highlighted the unique music, language, and culture of different regions of Pakistan.
A memorable aspect of the event was the presentation of national songs and regional folk music in Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi, Pashto, Gilgiti, and Kashmiri languages. This celebration of linguistic and cultural diversity was warmly received by attendees, who applauded enthusiastically, showing their appreciation for the performers and the spirit of unity the event embodied.
Speaking to the media, Ayub Jamali, Director General of the PNCA, emphasized the significance of this year’s Independence Day celebration. He noted that it commemorated not only Pakistan’s freedom but also the nation’s resilience, unity, and renewed commitment, especially in light of recent events following the Pakistan-India conflict. Jamali highlighted that the patriotic and regional songs performed were “the heartbeat of Pakistan,” instilling a deep sense of love for the country and a readiness to defend it.
The event concluded with participants pledging to protect Pakistan’s independence, preserve its culture, and contribute to building a strong, peaceful, and prosperous nation.
