Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal met with Oman’s ambassador Fahd Khalaf Al Kharousi to discuss expanding collaboration in the health sector. The two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation and matters of mutual interest, reaffirming that Pakistan and Oman share strong fraternal ties and a common aim to strengthen health services.
The minister briefed the ambassador on ongoing health sector reforms and government measures to support local vaccine production. Emphasis was placed on Pakistan’s commitment to producing vaccines domestically and on creating the technical and regulatory environment needed for sustainable manufacturing.
Both delegations agreed to collaborate across various health specialties, with particular focus on pharmaceutical technical cooperation that can deliver mutual benefits. Officials noted that technical sharing and joint work in the pharmaceutical sector will help both countries enhance capacity and access to quality medicines.
Discussion also covered exchange of healthcare staff and medical physicians so each country can benefit from the other’s experience. The ambassador expressed Oman’s interest in recruiting skilled nursing and medical specialists from Pakistan and praised Pakistan’s medical expertise. Both parties stressed the importance of regular exchanges in medical education, professional training and specialist deployment to deepen practical cooperation in health.
