A new Women Technology Park has been established at Women University Bagh, marking Pakistan’s first dedicated tech hub for women in a semi-urban region. The park offers a modern 5,000 square feet workspace designed to host women-led startups and IT teams close to home.
The project was delivered by the Pakistan Software Export Board with an investment of Rs 31 million and completed in collaboration with the Special Communication Organization and Women University Bagh. The Women Technology Park includes facilities tailored for IT and IT services companies to operate, collaborate and scale locally.
A soft launch is scheduled for 23 September, followed by an open house inviting IT companies, women entrepreneurs and professionals from the technology sector. The event aims to introduce the park’s workspace, incubator possibilities and industry connections to the local tech community.
The Pakistan Software Export Board says the Women Technology Park will provide equal opportunities for women, help overcome social and structural barriers and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Officials expect the facility to create new avenues for innovation and employment for women in the region.
By bringing global-standard facilities closer to Bagh, the new Women Technology Park is positioned to reduce the need for migration to larger cities and enable more women to pursue tech careers locally, strengthening the region’s economic and social fabric.
