Parliamentary Reporters Association Pays Tribute on 78th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Parliament
The Parliamentary Reporters Association (PRA) of Pakistan has paid tribute to the founders of the nation, the architects of the constitution, and all pro-democracy forces on the completion of 78 years since the establishment of the Pakistan Parliament. In an official statement, the PRA highlighted that the creation of the legislative assembly reflected the democratic vision and commitment to public representation held by Pakistan’s founders. Over the decades, the parliament has grown into a strong institution, serving as a foundation for the country’s democracy and providing shelter to Pakistan’s democratic journey.
PRA President Usman Khan, Secretary Naveed Akbar, and other officials emphasized that the supremacy of the constitution and parliament is vital for national development, prosperity, and unity. Describing the parliament as the voice and representative of the nation’s 250 million people, they praised ongoing efforts to engage youth in parliamentary processes, noting that such initiatives strengthen the democratic system for the future.
The association reiterated that national progress is not possible without a steady parliamentary system and political stability. They pledged the continued commitment of journalists to provide transparent, objective, and timely reporting on parliamentary affairs, thus supporting and upholding the principles of democracy in Pakistan.
