The Pakistan Policy Dialogue will convene in Islamabad on 14 January 2026 with Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, attending as the chief guest. The event, organised by the Policy Research and Advisory Council (PRAC) in collaboration with the Corporate Pakistan Group, aims to foster sustained engagement between government and industry to advance pragmatic reforms and growth-oriented policy choices.
The Dialogue, held under the theme Correcting Course Pakistan’s Economic Reset, brings together senior federal ministers including Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Senator Dr. Musadik Malik and Muhammad Ali to frame institutional strengthening and policy options for recovery. Founding partners for the forum are the Ministry of Commerce and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, with support from Bank Alfalah, BankIslami and Nutshell Group.
Panelists and speakers will span the development, corporate and policy communities, with contributions from Dr. Samuel Rizk of UNDP Pakistan, Dr. Ishrat Husain, Khurram Schehzad, Zarrar H. Khan and leaders from Jazz, InfraZamin, S&P Global, Systems Limited and other major domestic firms. The participation of private sector chairs and former federal officials underscores the aim of translating the Pakistan Policy Dialogue into actionable outcomes.
Discussions will explore priority areas central to the economic reset, including Export-Led Growth, Bridging the Digital Divide, Green Growth Pathways for a climate-vulnerable Pakistan, and advancing Pakistan’s broader growth agenda. Senior policymakers, corporate leaders and sector specialists will lead and moderate sessions to ensure detailed, evidence-based debate on each topic.
Organisers emphasise that the Pakistan Policy Dialogue is intended as a recurring national platform to promote evidence-based policy discourse and meaningful private-sector participation in reform thinking. The expectation is for the forum to generate clear recommendations that can be adopted by institutions across government and industry to support sustained economic recovery.
With its mix of federal ministers, development partners and private sector leaders, the Pakistan Policy Dialogue aims to reset the country’s economic direction through pragmatic policy choices and strengthened institutional collaboration.
