A special ceremony was held at the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) for Polio Eradication to celebrate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, bringing together key stakeholders to reaffirm their dedication to eradicating polio from the country. The event highlighted the ongoing efforts and unity among government officials and international partners in the fight against the crippling disease.
The ceremony was attended by Ms. Ayesha Raza Farooq, Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio Eradication, Mr. Anwar ul Haq, Coordinator of the National EOC, as well as representatives from international partner organizations. Senior officials from national and provincial Emergency Operations Centres and NEOC staff were also present.
During the event, participants emphasized their collective resolve to completely eliminate polio from Pakistan. They discussed strategies to bolster ongoing vaccination campaigns and cooperation among various federal and provincial agencies. The gathering showcased a strong partnership between local and international organizations in tackling polio, aiming to secure a healthier future for the nation’s children.
