Pakistan Polio Eradication Efforts and UAE Support Recognized

Mr. Abdulla Khalifa Saeed Alghfeli, Director of the UAE Pakistan Assistance Program (UAEPAP), visited the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) for Polio, where he praised Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to eradicating polio and pledged continued support from the UAE.

During his visit, Mr. Alghfeli met with Muhammad Anwar-ul Haq, the NEOC Coordinator, who expressed appreciation for UAEPAP’s valuable assistance in Pakistan’s efforts to eliminate polio. The UAE delegation interacted with the NEOC core group and took part in a comprehensive briefing in the Control Room, focusing on data digitization and advanced systems used to track children who were missed during vaccination campaigns.

Mr. Alghfeli emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration and reaffirmed the UAEPAP’s commitment to working alongside Pakistan to achieve a polio-free future. The meeting highlighted the critical role of international partnerships in supporting public health initiatives and advancing the goal of eradicating polio in the region.
