Pakistan and Saudi Arabia marked a new bilateral agreement with citywide illuminations in Islamabad, where government buildings, major avenues and private institutions were lit in the colors of both nations’ flags to celebrate their enduring ties.
The Capital Development Authority led preparations across the capital, deploying teams to decorate key thoroughfares including Jinnah Avenue, Constitution Avenue and Kashmir Highway. CDA officials said staff remained active at multiple locations to ensure the displays were completed and visible throughout the city.
Several government ministries and institutions joined the effort, with the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training among those lighting their premises in green and Saudi-inspired designs. Numerous private organizations also participated, illuminating their buildings to highlight the connection between the two countries.
Officials described the glowing displays as more than decorative lighting, framing them as a tribute to decades of strategic cooperation and shared goals. They said the visual celebrations emphasized common values of progress, unity and Islamic brotherhood.
Photographs of the illuminated landmarks circulated widely, drawing public attention to the scale of the preparations. Organizers said the initiative reflected the “timeless friendship” between Islamabad and Riyadh and celebrated the signing of the new agreement.
