Pakistan’s Consulate General in New York hosted a high-level trade delegation organized by the Global Trade and Expo Centre, Islamabad, to help Pakistan’s small and medium enterprises expand exports to the United States. The delegation brought together entrepreneurs from food processing, footwear, information technology, surgical instruments and beauty products, and Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai pledged the Consulate’s support in connecting these SMEs with U.S. buyers, navigating regulations and identifying market opportunities.

The delegation included business owners and exporters representing a range of sectors with export potential to the U.S. market. The visit was designed to introduce participants to U.S. commercial opportunities and to lay the groundwork for longer-term business linkages.

Consul General Aamer Ahmed Atozai welcomed the group and underlined the Consulate’s commitment to helping Pakistani businesses broaden their international presence. He described the United States as a vital trade partner for Pakistan and stressed the importance of innovation, strategic partnerships and access to new markets to drive export growth.

Atozai also briefed delegates on the U.S. economic landscape, pointing to niche and high-demand segments where Pakistani products could gain traction. He advised SMEs to position their brands strategically to meet evolving U.S. consumer preferences and to focus on quality, compliance and market differentiation.

The Consulate assured delegates it would assist with navigating U.S. regulatory frameworks, facilitate business introductions and help connect Pakistani companies with potential buyers and industry leaders. Support from the Consulate is intended to reduce barriers to entry and accelerate commercial engagement.

The visit forms part of a broader effort to strengthen Pakistan’s export capacity and empower SMEs to compete in global markets. Delegates were encouraged to use the trip to forge strategic partnerships, participate in trade exhibitions and deepen their understanding of the U.S. business ecosystem to convert meetings into tangible export opportunities.
