The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has distributed a total of Rs. 63.9 million in both annual and special grants to 22 national sports federations. The funding aims to support the ongoing development of a wide range of sports across the country, fostering athletic talent and enhancing Pakistan’s presence in various disciplines.

This disbursement marks the conclusion of the most recent federation grants phase. Of the total amount, Rs. 32.9 million was designated as annual grants, while special grants accounted for Rs. 31 million. The PSB’s allocation reflects its commitment to nurturing athletes and strengthening sporting infrastructure nationwide.

The Athletics Federation of Pakistan received the largest single allocation, securing Rs. 10 million, with specific support for the nation’s star javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem. Other significant grants included the National Rifle Association of Pakistan, which was awarded Rs. 7 million, and the Pakistan Squash Federation, Pakistan Volleyball Federation, and Pakistan Handball Federation, each benefitting from Rs. 5 million. Several other federations—including those representing body building, tenpin bowling, swimming, and table tennis—received grants ranging from Rs. 1 million to Rs. 3 million.

Also on the list of recipients were federations for alpine sports, badminton, judo, ju-jitsu, karate, kabaddi, rugby, winter sports, sailing, taekwondo, tennis, wrestling, and wushu, underscoring efforts to provide equitable support across both mainstream and emerging sports.

According to PSB officials, the grants will be instrumental in facilitating athlete training, participating in international competitions, and organizing domestic tournaments. The regular flow of funding is expected to raise athletic standards and continue Pakistan’s tradition of sporting excellence on regional and global stages.
