**Sri Lankan High Commission Delegation Explores Maritime Collaboration with Pakistan’s NIMA**

A delegation from the Sri Lankan High Commission in Pakistan, headed by Rear Admiral Fred Seneviratne and Deputy High Commissioner Christy Ruban Augustin, visited the National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) to discuss opportunities for enhanced maritime cooperation. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and explore potential areas of collaboration between the two countries in the maritime domain.

During their visit, the delegation received a comprehensive briefing on NIMA’s mission, ongoing projects, and future plans. Discussions mainly focused on establishing joint research initiatives, organizing conferences and seminars, and launching academic exchange programs to build mutual capacity and knowledge in maritime affairs.

Rear Admiral Fred Seneviratne expressed strong support for deepening maritime partnership between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and commended NIMA’s efforts in promoting maritime awareness and research. He emphasized the importance of building on the existing friendly relations to further enhance cooperation, particularly in maintaining regional maritime security.

Both sides expressed optimism that these collaborative efforts would reinforce maritime ties and contribute to shared goals of stability and prosperity in the region.
