Ambassador Misbah Khar Discusses ISC with Turkish Envoy

Ambassador Misbah Khar, Advisor to the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, met with the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. İrfan Neziroğlu, at the Embassy of Türkiye in Islamabad to discuss the establishment and objectives of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC). The meeting focused on enhancing parliamentary diplomacy and deepening cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.

During the meeting, Ambassador Khar briefed Dr. Neziroğlu on the ISC, a newly formed international forum intended to bring together Speakers of parliaments and global leaders to address issues such as peace, conflict resolution, stability, and security. She emphasized that the ISC aims to foster inclusive dialogue and offer practical solutions to pressing global challenges. Highlighting Pakistan’s leadership role, she noted that the Chairman of Pakistan’s Senate, Yousuf Raza Gillani, has been unanimously selected as the inaugural President of the ISC, underscoring the international community’s confidence in Pakistan.

Ambassador Khar officially invited the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to attend the upcoming first ISC session in Islamabad, which will focus on the theme of peace, stability, and security.

Ambassador Neziroğlu welcomed the initiative, reiterating Türkiye’s strong ties with Pakistan and expressing full support for both Pakistan’s role and the broader goals of the ISC. He highlighted the importance of fostering global parliamentary cooperation. Concluding the meeting, Ambassador Khar assured Türkiye of Pakistan’s continued commitment to working together in support of the ISC’s mission and strengthening bilateral parliamentary relations.
