Turkish Ambassador Irfan Naziroglu met with Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja to discuss deepening cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye in information and communication technology, digital transformation, and innovation. The two sides agreed to pursue joint initiatives that include business council activities, technology park development, and exchange programs intended to benefit young professionals.
During the meeting, both officials reviewed ways to strengthen collaboration under the IT Business Council, aiming to boost trade, investment and joint ventures in the tech sector. They also explored concrete steps for cooperation on a proposed Technology Park in Pakistan, designed to attract talent, support startups, and foster research and development.
The delegation discussed launching internship opportunities and fellowship exchanges to create avenues for skills development and professional experience for students and early-career professionals. These programs are intended to promote knowledge transfer and prepare a skilled workforce for Pakistan’s growing digital economy.
Minister Khawaja said Pakistan is committed to the Prime Minister’s vision of a Digital Nation and highlighted the importance of strong partnerships with Turkiye to accelerate digital transformation and spur innovation that benefits youth across the country. Ambassador Naziroglu expressed Turkiye’s readiness to expand digital linkages, share expertise, and collaborate on joint projects to support a more connected, future-ready Pakistan.
