Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in fiscal management, public finance reforms, and governance initiatives during a high-level meeting held in Dubai. Minister of State for Finance and Railways and Head of Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit, Bilal Azhar Kayani, met with UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, to discuss the implementation of joint projects under the Pakistan-UAE Experience Exchange Programme.
Minister Kayani emphasized Pakistan’s strong commitment to economic reform, digital transformation, and good governance under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership. Noting recent developments, he highlighted that both countries are building on the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed last month aimed at deepening institutional collaboration and modernizing governance structures.
During their discussions, the two leaders explored avenues for cooperation to enhance fiscal management practices, carry out effective public finance reforms, and facilitate knowledge-sharing between Pakistani and UAE institutions. The dialogue underscored the mutual desire to strengthen bilateral engagements within the existing partnership framework.
Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, along with senior officials from Pakistan’s delegation, were also present at the meeting, signifying the importance of the discussions and high priority accorded by both nations toward long-term bilateral collaboration.
