Chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Akif Saeed, and Commissioner Insurance, Mujtaba Ahmad Lodhi, visited the Federal Sehat Sahulat Program (SSP) Data Center to review advancements in universal health insurance. The visit highlighted SSP’s cutting-edge Data Science Center, which plays a crucial role in providing essential healthcare coverage to millions across Pakistan.
During the visit, Muhammad Arshad, CEO of the Sehat Sahulat Program, shared how the initiative is transforming healthcare access on a national scale. He explained that the program has become a leading example for universal health insurance by leveraging technology and innovation.
Chairperson Akif Saeed reinforced SECP’s dedication to strengthening Pakistan’s insurance sector. He outlined key initiatives, including the launch of a Five-Year Strategic Plan, significant reforms in the Insurance Ordinance and Motor Vehicles Act, and ongoing research projects aimed at building a more robust insurance ecosystem.
The meeting also explored possible collaborations between SECP and SSP, focusing on expanding health insurance coverage and boosting social security efforts throughout Pakistan. Both organizations expressed optimism about future partnerships to improve healthcare accessibility and insurance penetration.
