During the meeting both sides exchanged detailed views on diplomatic, economic and security matters, with the Acting Chairman underlining that Pakistan attaches great importance to Pakistan US relations and that recent diplomatic strategy has helped further strengthen ties.
Syedaal Khan Nasar highlighted that meetings between US President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of the Defence Staff General Syed Asim Munir were conducted in a cordial atmosphere and said those interactions contributed to de-escalation during tensions with India, a step he said the country deeply appreciates.
He reiterated Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, noting thousands of lives lost and substantial economic costs. The Acting Chairman stressed that Pakistan remains among the countries most affected by terrorism and called for international recognition and added cooperation to help restore economic and social stability in affected regions including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Emphasising the economic dimension of Pakistan US relations, the Acting Chairman invited American companies to explore investment opportunities across Pakistan and said enhanced commercial engagement would strengthen bilateral economic and social ties. He also stressed the value of parliamentary exchanges as a way to build mutual trust and cooperation between legislatures.
As part of outreach, the Acting Chairman invited the US delegation to visit Balochistan, assuring traditional hospitality and full security arrangements by the provincial government. The US delegation conveyed best wishes to the Acting Chairman, acknowledged Pakistan’s counter-terrorism role and the country’s sacrifices, and said efforts would be made to inform US companies about investment opportunities in various sectors.
