Pakistan has taken a significant step toward a strategic partnership with global technology giant ZTE, demonstrating its commitment to advancing the e-economy and fostering youth-driven innovation. Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, visited ZTE’s exhibition center in Beijing, where he received a warm welcome and engaged in discussions aimed at expanding technological cooperation.

During the visit, Professor Iqbal highlighted the “Uraan Pakistan Vision,” a national initiative focused on transforming Pakistan into a strong digital economy. This vision seeks to drive growth through the adoption of advanced technology, nurturing young talent, and by engaging in international collaborations.

To support this goal, the minister explained that Centers of Excellence are being established across Pakistan to promote key modern disciplines. These centers will focus on artificial intelligence, automated robotics, nanotechnology, big data, and cloud computing. Such facilities are designed to equip young Pakistani engineers with the skills needed to compete in the global digital economy.

Professor Iqbal formally invited ZTE to deepen its engagement in Pakistan, particularly by forming joint ventures, collaborating on localized operations, and launching training programs targeted at youth empowerment and technological innovation. He emphasized that international, technology-driven partnerships are crucial for Pakistan’s sustainable and inclusive progress.

The encounter with ZTE marks a practical step to broaden Pakistan’s international outreach, aligning with the country’s development agenda as outlined in the “5Es Framework.” This framework prioritizes export-led growth, energy, e-governance, and entrepreneurship, and the partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in achieving these strategic goals.
