PANAH expands pediatric heart surgery with Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology to treat deserving children from AFIC, PNS Shifa and RIC.

PANAH has expanded its pediatric heart surgery programme in collaboration with the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology, handing over the first child for operation as the organisation ramps up services for needy families. Secretary General Panah Chaudhry Sanahullah Ghumman personally escorted the young patient to Dr Qurban Khan at RIC.

Heart and related diseases are increasing at an alarming rate in Pakistan, with more than 240,720 people dying annually and treatment costs that many cannot afford. To tackle this, PANAH has signed a formal MOU with the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology and will expand access to pediatric heart surgery for deserving patients referred from AFIC, PNS Shifa and RIC Hospital.

MS-RIC Dr Qurban Khan said the institute will work side by side with PANAH in this mission, underlining a shared commitment to timely surgical care. Secretary General Sanahullah Ghumman, together with Medical Superintendent Dr Qurban Hussain Khan, completed the first admission for surgery under the new arrangement.

PANAH officials said the expanded programme will coordinate surgeries, financial support and post-operative follow-up so that vulnerable families receive continuous care. The organisation expressed gratitude to RIC management and hospital staff for enabling the partnership to reach more children in need of pediatric heart surgery.
