Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq led a parliamentary delegation to the Kingdom of Bahrain on a special invitation from the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mr. Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, arriving in Manama to a warm welcome that underlined longstanding fraternal ties between the two nations. The visit underscores Pakistan Bahrain efforts to broaden parliamentary diplomacy and deepen regional engagement.
In a substantive bilateral meeting both delegations discussed a wide range of issues spanning bilateral cooperation, regional stability and international concerns, reflecting shared values, mutual respect and a common vision for peace and prosperity across the Muslim world. The dialogue focused on strengthening parliamentary collaboration and enhancing people to people connectivity between Pakistan and Bahrain.
Speaker Sadiq strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza as a blatant violation of international humanitarian norms, highlighting the weaponization of humanitarian aid and deliberate targeting of civilians including children, women, the elderly and medical personnel. He urged immediate and unhindered delivery of humanitarian relief to affected populations and pressed for adherence to international law and humanitarian principles.
Both sides took a joint stance in condemning what they described as illegal, falsely justified and unprovoked attacks on Qatar, Yemen and Iran, characterising such actions as serious breaches of international law and violations of national sovereignty. Speaker Sadiq warned that these actions aggravate regional instability and set a dangerous precedent for undermining the international rules based order.
The delegation also raised deep concern over human rights abuses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and underscored the illegality of the unilateral abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A that stripped the Kashmiri people of constitutional protections. The Bahraini Speaker reaffirmed support for the inalienable right to self determination of the Kashmiri people as reflected in United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Speaker Sadiq expressed appreciation for Bahrain’s consistent principled support for oppressed Muslim populations globally and thanked Speaker Al Musallam for his invitation and hospitality. He reiterated that Pakistan, under democratic and parliamentary leadership, remains committed to strengthening Pakistan Bahrain relations through enhanced parliamentary ties and robust people to people exchanges. Speaker Al Musallam praised Pakistan’s parliamentary resolutions on Palestine and Kashmir and extended congratulations on the success of Marka e Haq, calling it an important military and diplomatic achievement.
The parliamentary delegation accompanying Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq included MNAs Zulfiqar Behan, Mussarat Rafique Mahesar, Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, Sardar Shamsher Ali Khan Mazari, Abdul Aleem Khan, Muhammad Usman Badini, Hassan Sabir, Khursheed Ahmed Junejo and Pullain Baloch. The visit reaffirmed Pakistan’s role as a voice for the voiceless and its commitment to pursue unity, justice and peace across the Muslim Ummah through active parliamentary engagement.
