The Pakistan Cricket Board has finalised a three-year addendum with Beaconhouse School System to deliver a Beaconhouse scholarship for 120 top-performing pathway cricketers from U15, U17 and U19 brackets across 16 regions, running from 31 July 2025 to 31 July 2028.
The PCB has already submitted the list of 120 deserving young players who will receive full educational support under the arrangement. The signing ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore brought together senior officials from both organisations to mark the start of the programme.
Representing the Pakistan Cricket Board at the ceremony were Mohsin Naqvi (Chairman), Sumair Ahmed Syed (COO), Mike Hesson (White-ball head coach), Abdullah Khurram Niazi (Director Domestic Cricket Operations) and Junaid Zia (SGM Domestic).
Beaconhouse delegation included Kasim Kasuri (Chief Executive), Ali Ahmad Khan (COO), Faisal Nisar (AD Operations), Syeda Iram Naqvi (General Manager) and Tania Mallick (Manager Sports), reflecting the schools’ commitment to supporting the players’ education alongside their cricketing development.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi praised Beaconhouse for stepping in to support young cricketers and said the partnership underlines PCB’s commitment to nurturing both sporting and academic growth. He added, “With this partnership, the young players will be able to fully focus on their education as well and it marks the beginning of a bright future for them. This joint venture will have far-reaching results. We also intend to expand the educational scholarship initiatives for cricketers so that most of them can get free of cost education.”
Officials said the Beaconhouse scholarship will allow selected pathway cricketers to concentrate on studies without financial burden while continuing their training, and signalled plans to widen similar educational support schemes for more players in future.
