Pakistan Engineering Council has taken a decisive step towards digital innovation by signing a landmark MoU with NADRA focused on accelerating ICT development and e-governance across the Council’s operations. The PEC NADRA collaboration is aimed at delivering technology-driven solutions that improve transparency, efficiency and service delivery for engineers and stakeholders nationwide.
Under the agreement, NADRA will provide technical operations management, secure data hosting and support for digital application development to modernize PEC systems. These measures are expected to strengthen data security and streamline access to services while enabling more reliable and responsive digital workflows within the Council.
The MoU was signed by Registrar PEC Engr. Khadim Hussain Bhatti and Chief Projects NADRA Mr. Rehman Qamar, in the presence of Chairman PEC Engr. Waseem Nazir and Chairman NADRA Lt. Gen. Muhammad Munir Afsar, HI(M), along with senior officials from both organisations. The presence of leadership from both sides underlines the strategic importance of the partnership for Pakistan’s engineering community.
Chairman PEC Engr. Waseem Nazir described the partnership as a transformative milestone in the Council’s modernization journey, emphasizing secure, transparent and efficient systems that align with 21st-century governance and innovation. The focus on secure hosting and application development reflects a commitment to building resilient digital infrastructure for professional regulation and services.
The MoU reinforces PEC’s vision of Smart PEC and seeks to build a digitally empowered, transparent and globally connected engineering ecosystem. By leveraging NADRA’s technical expertise, the PEC NADRA initiative aims to enhance service quality for Pakistan’s engineers and support broader efforts to modernize public sector ICT capabilities.
