Peoples Party reaffirms commitment to public service and honours armed forces sacrifices as Salma Barakat highlights national progress and rights protection.

Peoples Party President Salma Barakat said the party firmly believes that the source of power lies with the people and that serving the public remains its central mission. She recalled the sacrifices and legacy of martyr Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and the continued dedication of party leaders, including the Quaid-e-Awam and the late Benazir Bhutto, to the nation.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Salma Barakat emphasized that protecting the rights of citizens and minorities is a shared responsibility and that the Peoples Party will continue to prioritise social justice and inclusive governance. She said the party’s commitment to public service guides its actions and policy priorities at every level.

Commenting on national security and stability, she praised the Pakistani armed forces under the leadership of Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir for rapid achievements that have strengthened peace and order. Barakat described the sacrifices of the armed forces as enduring and said every patriotic citizen values their contribution to the country’s stability.

Barakat noted that since the triumph of the cause of truth, Pakistan has gained wider recognition internationally while regional dynamics have shifted. She said the government is making serious efforts to address public concerns, economic indicators are showing improvement, and Pakistan is asserting itself as a responsible and resilient country on the world stage.

Reiterating the Peoples Party’s resolve, Salma Barakat urged continued focus on practical solutions for citizens’ problems and on safeguarding the rights of all communities as essential steps toward sustained national progress.
