Quetta Dominates Lahore with Record Win at Pepsi National PD T20 Cricket Championship

Multan and Quetta delivered dominant performances on the second day of the Pepsi National PD T20 Cricket Championship, with Quetta making history by dismissing Lahore for just 51 runs—the lowest score ever recorded in Pakistan’s disabled cricket competitions. Multan also secured their second consecutive win, defeating Karachi in a closely contested match.

The matches, held at the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy Ground and organized by the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association, drew notable figures from the disabled cricket community, including PPDCA President Imran Balwani, Event Director Amiruddin Ansari, and national team Head Coach Sabih Azhar.

In the day’s opening game, Karachi batted first and posted a total of 124 runs. Umar Farooq anchored the innings with a dynamic 57 off 35 balls, supported by contributions from Kamran Khan and Arifeen Arshad. Multan’s bowling attack was led by Muhammad Irfan, who took 4 wickets for 28 runs, while Zubair Saleem and other bowlers shared the remaining wickets.

Chasing a modest target, Multan lost three early wickets but recovered thanks to a steady partnership between Muhammad Shehzad and Majid Hussain. Hussain led the run chase with 38, while important knocks from Jahanzeb Tuwana, Zubair Saleem, and Shehzad saw Multan home with five wickets to spare. Zubair Saleem was named Player of the Match.

In the afternoon fixture, Quetta overwhelmed Lahore in a one-sided contest. Lahore’s batting lineup struggled from the outset, collapsing for 51 runs. Atiq-ur-Rehman was the only batsman to reach double figures with 11 runs. Quetta’s bowlers were exceptional, with Muhammad Mithal claiming four wickets for 19 runs, and Ali Bakhsh taking three for just six. Quetta made easy work of the small target, reaching victory in just over five overs with Saifullah and Jumman Shah providing quick runs. Muhammad Mithal received the Player of the Match award for his bowling performance.

Both matches were supervised by officials Waseemuddin and Muhammad Rehan, with Shakeel Sajjad serving as referee. On the following day, Lahore is set to face Multan, while Quetta will play Karachi as the tournament progresses.
