**Department of Explosives Unveils Online Application Portal for Petroleum Licenses**
The Department of Explosives has introduced a new Online Application Portal aimed at streamlining the process of obtaining petroleum licenses, with a focus on boosting transparency and facilitating business operations. The portal enables applicants to submit their requests and monitor progress digitally, representing a significant modernization for the licensing process.
The launch event was attended by key officials, including Abdul Ali Khan, Director General of the Department of Explosives, and Faisal Ratyal, CEO of the National Information Technology Board (NITB), along with other distinguished guests.
Key features of the portal include the ability to apply and submit fees online, real-time application tracking, and a streamlined process allowing each company to use a single login per regional office. However, the submission of original documents remains mandatory to ensure compliance and verification.
The Department has also directed that all existing license holders must register their licenses through the new portal, a move intended to bring all stakeholders onto the digital platform and further enhance regulatory oversight. This initiative is expected to simplify procedures for both new applicants and current licensees, while bolstering efficiency and transparency across the sector.
