PFF BFA MoU creates joint training, refereeing and women's football programs to elevate Pakistan's standards and regional cooperation.

The Pakistan Football Federation and the Bahrain Football Association have signed a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding at the BFA headquarters in Riffa to deepen cooperation on technical, administrative, women’s football and futsal development. The PFF BFA MoU sets out practical steps to strengthen national teams, age-group squads and talent pathways between the two federations.

Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, chairman of the BFA Board of Directors, and Syed Mohsin Gilani, president of the Pakistan Football Federation, formally signed the agreement in the presence of BFA Secretary-General Mr. Rashid Al-Zoubi. The pact envisages joint training camps, friendly matches and targeted talent development initiatives to better prepare teams for regional and international competition.

The memorandum places particular weight on refereeing development and raising administrative and technical standards through coordinated training courses, capacity-building programs and workshops. As part of the agreement the two federations will also exchange legal and regulatory expertise to support stronger governance and internal operations.

A central element of the PFF BFA MoU is a shared commitment to grow and professionalise women’s football. Both federations will work on integrated development programs aimed at increasing participation, improving technical standards and creating clearer pathways for female players and coaches. The agreement also highlights measures to support futsal as a complementary discipline with its own development potential.

On the sidelines of the signing the presidents toured the National Sports Performance Center at the BFA headquarters, a facility established with FIFA support and equipped with modern infrastructure and technology to assist players, coaches and support staff. Syed Mohsin Gilani praised the structured approach and facilities, saying the partnership lays a solid foundation for long-term collaboration in technical excellence and grassroots growth.

For Pakistan the PFF BFA MoU promises sustained cooperation that can lift coaching standards, referee quality and competitive readiness across men’s, women’s and youth football, while strengthening ties between the two footballing nations in the Asian region.
