**Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists Celebrates 75th Anniversary with Platinum Jubilee Event in Karachi**

The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), the country’s largest organization of media professionals, is marking its 75th anniversary with a major platinum jubilee celebration at Karachi’s historic Khaliq Dina Hall. Journalists from across Pakistan are attending the ceremony to commemorate the PFUJ’s longstanding contributions to press freedom and media advocacy.

The PFUJ was established on August 2, 1950, by journalists from the Sindh Union of Journalists — itself formed in 1948 — and the Punjab Union of Journalists. The union’s inaugural meeting was held at Khaliq Dina Hall in Karachi, a venue chosen once again for this significant milestone.

Ahead of the platinum jubilee ceremony, PFUJ Secretary General Arshad Ansari, along with former Secretaries General Mazhar Abbas and Khurshid Abbasi, visited the historic venue to review the arrangements.

In addition to the main celebration, the PFUJ’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) is also convening its session at the Karachi Press Club over several days. These events are expected to highlight PFUJ’s enduring legacy and reaffirm its commitment to defending journalists’ rights across Pakistan.
