PHEC Advancing Research Innovation with Punjab Universities

Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Chairperson of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), led a high-level meeting with Vice Chancellors from public sector universities in Punjab to discuss major initiatives aimed at enhancing higher education and research across the province.

The meeting centered on three key priorities. The first was the Honhaar Scholarship Program, which seeks to empower talented students by providing them with financial assistance to pursue higher education. This initiative aims to make quality education more accessible to deserving students.

The second priority involved the establishment of R&D Clusters. These clusters are designed to encourage collaboration and interdisciplinary research among institutions, fostering a culture of innovation and joint academic progress.

Additionally, the session discussed plans for an upcoming Research Conference. This event will serve as a platform for scholars to present their latest innovations, participate in panel discussions, and attend keynote speeches, with the goal of stimulating new ideas and driving impactful research outcomes.

Prof. Dr. Khan welcomed the Vice Chancellors and highlighted the importance of a shared vision and collaboration in shaping Punjabโ€™s academic and research landscape. He encouraged collective feedback and commended the valuable ideas and strategies presented to strengthen research ecosystems and promote innovation-led growth in higher education.
