Two PIDE graduates represented Pakistan at the 8th Lindau Nobel Meeting on Economic Sciences, held 26–30 August 2025 in Germany, where Nobel Laureates and leading young economists gathered to discuss solutions to global challenges.
The PIDE delegation included Dr Muhammad Hassam Shahid, PhD in Economics from PIDE, and Ana Khattak, Deputy Director at the State Bank of Pakistan and MPhil Public Policy alumna of PIDE, who engaged with international peers to exchange ideas and build networks.
Participation at the Lindau meeting allowed the PIDE delegation to bring Pakistani perspectives into conversations on macroeconomic policy, development research and evidence-based solutions, while also absorbing cutting-edge thinking that can inform policy back home.
Their presence underlines PIDE’s growing role in preparing economists for national and international engagement; congratulations to Dr Muhammad Hassam Shahid and Ana Khattak for representing Pakistan at this important international forum.
