The Emergency Operations Center in Balochistan held an evening review meeting under the chairmanship of Inam ul Haq to finalise arrangements for the October polio campaign. The session focused on practical steps to ensure that the upcoming polio campaign reaches every eligible child in Pishin.
Senior district and health officials attended the meeting, including Deputy Commissioner Pishin Qazi Mansoor Ahmed, District Health Officer Dr Syed Gul Zaman Shah, WHO Deputy Coordinator Dr Abdullah Nasir, the National Stop Transmission of Polio officer Dr Waheed, and Dr Ahmed Zaman Jamali, along with other relevant officers.
Participants reviewed comprehensive preparations for the polio campaign, emphasising rigorous training for field staff, robust security and logistical arrangements, and operational measures to achieve one hundred percent child coverage. The meeting addressed challenges in field deployment and strategies to monitor progress during the campaign.
During his address, Inam ul Haq stressed that polio eradication is a national responsibility and called for close coordination between departments and an integrated strategy to guarantee success. Deputy Commissioner Qazi Mansoor Ahmed assured district administration’s full cooperation to support the polio campaign and its implementation across Pishin.
