The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has signed two contracts with the Civil Aviation Training Institute (CATI) in Hyderabad, under the Pakistan Airport Authority, to modernize campus operations and digitize fee collection. The agreements will introduce a Training & Campus Management System to streamline academic and administrative processes and a PayZen payment platform to enable secure, real-time digital payments.
The Training & Campus Management System will centralize student records, course management, scheduling, examinations and administrative workflows, improving efficiency and reducing paperwork across CATI. PayZen will enable students and trainees to pay fees via mobile banking, ATMs and debit/credit cards, while supplying real-time dashboards for transparent tracking of transactions and financial reporting.
The contracts were signed on behalf of PITB by Director Development & Procurement Ata ur Rehman and by Deputy Director General Works & Development and Director CATI, Engr. Sumair Saeed, representing CATI and the Pakistan Airport Authority. Senior PITB officials present included DG IT Solutions Waqar Naeem Qureshi, Additional Director General Syed Qasim Ifzal, Director Shahid Akram Khan and Joint Directors Syed Ijlal Hussain and Muddasir Paracha. From the Pakistan Airport Authority and CATI, attendees included Headquarters Director Finance M. Saqib Butt, Additional Director IT Arshad Ali and Joint Director Academics Saima Ikram.
During the event, the PITB team delivered a detailed presentation on workflow automation and the potential uses of artificial intelligence in the aviation training sector. PITB has committed to providing comprehensive training and ongoing technical support to CATI staff to ensure secure, seamless adoption of the new systems.
These initiatives represent a significant step toward digital transformation in Pakistan’s aviation training sector, promising improved operational efficiency, greater financial transparency and enhanced service delivery at CATI Hyderabad.
