PMA Kasur Annual Meeting Hosts CPSP President

PMA Kasur annual meeting welcomed CPSP President Khalid Masood Gondal who praised PMA's flood relief work and pledged academic support in Kasur.

On Friday 5th December the Pakistan Medical Association District Kasur held its annual meeting and dinner where the President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, attended as the chief guest. The event was organised by PMA District Kasur under the leadership of President Dr Muhammad Khalid, General Secretary Dr Khurram Shahzad and an organising committee that included Dr Shafiq Shaikh and Dr Abdul Quddus Khokhar among others.

The ceremony opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran followed by addresses from central and provincial PMA leadership. Dr Izhar Chaudhry, Central President PMA, and Dr Kamran Shaikh, Provincial President PMA, spoke to the gathering. A welcome address was delivered by Dr Khalid Hussain and the annual report was presented by Dr Khurram Shahzad.

Senior members of the medical fraternity attended the PMA Kasur gathering, including Dr Khurshid Ansari, Prof Zaheer consultant pulmonologist, Prof Abdul Hameed Principal Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Prof Zohra Khanum Principal SIMS, Prof Muhammad Nadeem Registrar FJMU and Dr Amir Salim, former MS SGRH, among other eminent physicians.

In his remarks Prof Khalid Masood Gondal commended the Pakistan Medical Association for its service, particularly its role in rehabilitating flood-affected communities. He emphasised that the medical profession offers a path to success in this world and the hereafter through service to the sick, and he responded to requests from stage representatives and the provincial PMA branch by pledging support to strengthen academic activities in District Kasur.

The evening concluded with presentation of shields to recognise contributors and a renewed commitment to collaboration between CPSP and PMA Kasur to enhance medical education and local patient care.
