PM&DC Holds High-Level Meeting to Review Admission Policy Concerns for 2025–26 Session
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) convened a high-level meeting at its headquarters to review concerns raised by students regarding the admission policy for the 2025–26 session. The Council took notice of recent media reports and acknowledged the pressure and uncertainty students are facing during the ongoing admission cycle.
All key stakeholders attended the meeting, including PM&DC Council members, Vice Chancellors, IBCC representatives, and legal experts. Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, participated as a special invitee.
PM&DC stated that the purpose of the meeting was to explore all possible solutions that may help ease students’ concerns and ensure maximum clarity and support. The Council reiterated that it considers every student as part of its own family and remains committed to facilitating them at every stage. It assured students that their concerns are fully understood and that PM&DC will continue to provide cooperation on all forums to ensure a smooth academic transition.
Council members clarified that the three-year validity of the MDCAT result is a matter defined by law under the domain of Parliament. However, they emphasized that PM&DC will always protect students’ interests and will not allow their academic future to be compromised.
The Council noted that all suggestions and concerns shared by student groups have been given due consideration. PM&DC affirmed its continued cooperation in court proceedings, stating that all viable options will be presented transparently to ensure maximum relief for students. It added that the court’s decision will be final and binding on all institutions and candidates, and PM&DC will implement it in full to ensure students are able to move forward in their academic plans with confidence and certainty.
