Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal officially inaugurated a digital licensing system at the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s Karachi regional office during his visit to the facility. The new PMDC licensing initiative was announced as a practical step to streamline registration for medical and dental professionals across Karachi.
The digital approach is designed to simplify and accelerate the registration process so that new graduates and practicing clinicians no longer need to travel to the Islamabad head office. By bringing PMDC licensing services to the Karachi regional office, the council aims to remove logistical barriers and reduce processing times for applicants.
All registration services will now be available at the Karachi regional office, which will also assist applicants in submitting and processing online applications. Regional staff will provide full support to doctors who encounter difficulties with the online portal, ensuring applicants can complete forms and meet requirements without unnecessary delay.
This move is expected to allow new graduates, medical and dental professionals, and specialists to complete their registration more quickly and securely. Officials say the system will promote greater transparency, efficiency, and convenience in professional licensing across the city.
Minister Mustafa Kamal reiterated the government’s commitment to raising the standards of medical education and said the expansion of PMDC licensing services in Karachi is a significant step toward improving regulatory support for healthcare professionals in Sindh.
