PMDC met with Foreign Medical Graduates to address long-standing concerns; stakeholders given three weeks to resolve issues or prepare a Long March.

Following a peaceful protest by Foreign Medical Graduates, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council convened a meeting with key FMG stakeholders to deliberate in detail on their long-standing issues and concerns.

During the session, representatives Dr. Tahir Sikandri, Dr. Rafey Sher, Dr. Adnan Orakzai and Dr. Abdul Rehman Gujjar presented the points and reservations of Foreign Medical Graduates directly to PMDC officials, laying out both procedural and legal obstacles faced by affected graduates.

Participants appreciated the constructive and positive approach of PMDC representatives, who assured facilitation and committed to working toward resolution of the matters raised by the FMG community.

Stakeholders expressed special gratitude to Dr. Shoaib Niazi, President of the Young Doctors Association Punjab, for his steadfast support and leadership throughout the process. His assistance in the legal struggle of Foreign Medical Graduates was widely acknowledged by attendees.

PMDC has allowed a three-week timeframe to address and resolve the outstanding issues. Stakeholders made clear that if legal rights continue to be ignored, all FMG representatives together with Dr. Shoaib Niazi will initiate a Long March that will continue until their legitimate demands are fully accepted.

Following the PMDC meeting, the core representatives met again to review the discussed points and finalise their strategy going forward, coordinating next steps to ensure the concerns of Foreign Medical Graduates remain central to negotiations.
