PMDC NRE Step I results announced: 1,473 of 7,012 candidates passed. Check outcomes and next steps for provisional registration and clinical exams.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has announced the results of the NRE Step I held on December 14, 2025, under the supervision of the National University of Medical Sciences. The council reported that a total of 7,012 candidates sat the exam.

Out of those who appeared, 1,473 candidates were declared successful. The overall pass rate for medical graduates was 21.17 percent, while dental candidates recorded a pass rate of 7.23 percent. Of the successful candidates, 1,467 were medical graduates and only six were dental qualifiers.

Candidates wishing to verify their individual outcomes can check the results on the council’s official website by entering their roll numbers. The PMDC said dates for NRE Step II, the clinical examination, will be announced shortly.

Those who clear both stages of the NRE will be issued a provisional registration certificate, which is required to commence a house job in Pakistan. The council emphasised that provisional registration is contingent on successfully completing both Step I and Step II.

The PMDC also urged parents to ensure that students seek admission only in recognised and approved medical and dental colleges abroad, warning that enrollment in unrecognised or substandard institutions can lead to financial loss and jeopardise future medical careers.
