The Volunteers and Youth Gathering at the OIC Youth Capital 2025 in Marrakesh, organised in partnership with the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, brought together youth delegates from across the Muslim world to discuss collaboration and opportunity. Pakistan’s delegation used the platform to underline national efforts in youth empowerment and digital engagement.
Rizwan Anwar, Special Representative to the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, presented the vision of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for youth development and outlined strategic initiatives driven under the leadership of Chairman PMYP Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan. He highlighted how the PMYP approach combines policy direction with practical programmes to expand access to education, skills and employment.
Central to Pakistan’s presentation was the success of the Digital Youth Hub, described as the most popular app among young Pakistanis for accessing opportunities. The Digital Youth Hub was showcased as a model for leveraging technology to connect youth with internships, training and civic projects, demonstrating how a national platform can scale opportunity and inclusion across regions.
Maha Jamil, Special Representative to the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, emphasised the role of volunteering and civic engagement in driving social transformation. She shared examples of Pakistani youth mobilising at the community level through volunteer initiatives that complement government-led programmes and foster cross-border cooperation within OIC member states.
The delegation’s participation reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the PMYP agenda and to strengthening ties within the OIC framework. By promoting digital solutions like the Digital Youth Hub and celebrating volunteerism as a force for change, Pakistan aimed to foster deeper collaboration that advances collective progress for the Muslim Ummah.
