P&D Board Punjab met to finalise department proposals ahead of the first Development Talk with FCDO to advance Punjab's development priorities.

A preparatory meeting at the P&D Board Lahore convened senior officials to finalise departmental inputs ahead of the first Development Talk with FCDO, chaired by Chief Economist Mr. Masood Anwar. The session focused on aligning proposals so that Punjab presents clear priorities during upcoming discussions with the UK government.

The meeting brought together senior representatives from Agriculture, LG&CD, Irrigation, Health, Industries & Commerce, SD&ED, School Education, PRMP and PDMA to ensure cross-departmental coherence. Participants reviewed sectoral proposals and discussed sequencing and resource considerations to strengthen the case presented at the Development Talk.

Key thematic areas under consideration included economic growth driven by skills development, promotion of agri-exports to boost provincial trade revenue, flood rehabilitation paired with improved early warning systems, and targeted capacity-building interventions for provincial institutions. Delegates emphasised the need for measurable outputs and timelines so partnership funding with FCDO can deliver tangible results for communities across Punjab.

The session aimed to consolidate concrete proposals for strategic cooperation with FCDO that align with Punjab’s development vision and to prepare a coordinated agenda for the upcoming Development Talk. Officials agreed to refine project briefs and prepare follow-up documentation to support negotiations and implementation planning.
