Pakistan and Afghanistan Join Forces for Polio Eradication

Federal Minister for National Health Syed Mustafa Kamal has directed a key meeting in Karachi between MNA Iqbal Mehsud, MPA Faheem Patni, Polio Focal Person Nadir Khilji, and Afghanistan’s Consul General Syed Abdul Jabbar Takhari, focusing on renewed efforts to eradicate polio and address vaccine refusals in the region.

During the discussions, participants emphasized the importance of collaboration between Pakistan and Afghanistan to eliminate polio once and for all. The agenda centered on developing effective strategies to overcome resistance to vaccination and ensuring both countries move towards a polio-free future.

Afghanistan’s Consul General commended the Pakistani Health Minister’s dedication and tireless campaign against polio. Both sides reiterated their shared commitment to working together through joint initiatives, signaling a united approach to public health and cross-border cooperation in eradicating the disease.
